An Untraditional Thanksgiving Day

This year we stayed home for Thanksgiving - so we got together with the Forests, who also have no family close by, and did our own version of Thanksgiving. First, we fished at the San Clemente Pier.
Kalli was so excited to go fishing - we even dug up our own worms
Too bad we didn't catch any fish, that was going to be our feast :) So instead, neither Jess or I really wanted to cook, we got take out from Mimi's Cafe.

Turkey Pesto Sandwich

Butternut Squash Ravioli
We snarfed it down and then made sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles. It was perfect, except a little mashed potatoes and gravy would have topped it off nicely. Oh, well maybe next year ;)

Oh heck Tash ... you lucky girl. it ended up being just the 4 of us, and somehow Chiki talked me into cooking a turkey and everything. Too much work. Can't wait to see you guys in less then a month!!

Turkey Pesto Sandwich is the best! It looks like you have a new family tradition.

I have to say that it was one of the most memorable Thanksgivings ever. We can always count on you guys to be nontraditional with us. Where'd you find the pics of the food? The butternut squash ravioli looks awesome. Not at all what I ate :)

Nice, ours was a little like yours, however we did have mashed potatoes. At least you had Turkey, we skipped that for ham. Hope you guys are well and the little one's too! Jada misses Kalli tons and sometimes gets in these melancholy moods saying she misses her. If you guys ever want to make a trip to visit the east coast and NYC you've got a place to stay!
