Surprise!

It was Kim's big 23rd Birthday over 2 weeks ago, but since she has been out of town and then sick with the flu we haven't had a chance to celebrate. Finally, it was our time to have some fun. Wendy suggested we get her out of bed for an early breakfast, just like the good ol' high school days. Of course, I jumped at the idea and called Curt Fri night to fill him in on the plan AND to make sure he was 'decent' when we arrived. The plan was set... Sat. morning my alarm went off (5:55 am! - wait, am I crazy :) I threw on some pajamas and out the door I went to pick up Wendy and Jenn. There was a little delay at the houses and Wendy's sis wanted in on the action, so by 6:45 we were at Kim's front door. We crept in, Curt was on the couch with Grant and pointed us in the right direction. We snuck up to see Kim in her finest and this is what we found...

She was very surprised, to say the least. We whisked her off to Mimi's for a scrumptious breakfast. We enjoyed chatting the morning away and the food was delicious.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, KIM!!
(Jenn had to leave before we took the pic - just imagine her sitting next to Wendy)

Picture Perfect

We took the scenic route home from Monterey (Nate made me promise I wouldn't fall asleep like I usually do) and we came across this amazing place. We just had to stop at cach a few shots. Kalli was very willing to pose, so we got lots and lots of great pictures. We did have to climb down some rocks and crawl through a barbed wire fence - in flip flops- which put our detour at a little longer than planned, but as you can see, it was well worth it!

A Quick Trip

Nate had to go to Monterey for a few days to get some artwork done, usually Kalli and I stay behind but I decided, last minute, to go with him. We headed out on Easter afternoon (after church) and pulled in to Monterey at 9 pm, just in time for some games with the fam. We were only there 3 days, but it was nice to get a little R&R and spend some time with Nate's family. I am glad we went and now feel refreshed and ready to take on life once again :)
Just a taste of the fun we had:

'Hoppy' Easter!

Of course I took videos of Easter morning, but no pictures. What was I thinking?! Anyway, this is a glimpse of what goes on in our neck of the woods on this special day...

Easter, Egg Hunts, and Candy, Oh My!

I loved going to egg hunts when I was younger, so whenever there is one for Kalli, we make sure we hit it. Kalli got to go to 2 egg hunts this year, one put on by our Ward and the other was by the community. They were both a lot of fun and of course Kalli came home with enough candy to last us until next Easter :)

Ready to start the hunt (kids in our Ward)

Look at the loot!

Hey, I thought bunnies were supposed to be small...

Mmmm... look at all that candy

Score!

'Dying' for Easter to Come

Easter has snuck up on us and it is time to get those eggs dyed. Kalli could hardly wait to get started. Of course, first we stripped her down to her Dora's (due to past experience with dye and clothes), then we began. Kalli meticulously dropped each egg into the dyes and we worked our magic. The eggs turned out bright and beautiful with only a few minor cracks in each one. I think the Easter Bunny will be impressed!

What's your favorite color?

Easy does it

Here is a clip of Kalli in action...

so careful, yet soooo many cracks :)

Are you wearing green?

Kalli has been impatiently waiting for this day where she gets to pinch people (of course, nicely) if they aren't wearing green. She went into Nate's room first thing this morning and gave him a little pinch on the arm. The day was already off to a good start!

Did Somebody Say Princess?

Princess this, Princess that, everything Kalli does nowadays is in relation to a Princess. She first got her Princess haircut last week, then she has her Princess mirror and brushes(they are plain old pink), and only wants to brush with her Princess toothbrush (it's just purple, nothing special). So on Sunday, she had to wear her Princess dress, with matching Princess shoes and to top it off has some Princess hair clips in her hair. On our way into the church building she told Nate that she looks like a Princess (just in case he couldn't tell). I guess I am fine to go along with this, but the minute she tells us to bow down, it is over :)
I must admit, she does look like a Princess. So sweet!

I Heart Reruns

I must admit, I love when 10 pm comes around and I get to watch a Seinfeld episode I have already seen at least 20 times. With all the drama on tv now, it is nice to sit back and get a few belly laughs in.

And if I can stay up long enough, aka 11 pm, I get to watch Friends, another all-time favorite. I can't get enough!

What are your favorite reruns?
