Red Mango Social

Every couple weeks I meet up with Katrina at the Crystal Cove Red Mango. It was a fave of ours when we worked together. I love this girl and am so glad we have an 'excuse' to meet up (like we need one).

Guess Who Else Was Born Today?!

Capri Darby Forest! Congrats Miah and Jess on your BEAUTIFUL baby girl! You did well AND look at that hair! Every womans dream :) I can't believe she is finally here and most of all that I got to SEE her and HOLD her. Jess wasn't even going to be here for Treyvan's birth - I am so glad it has worked out this way. We love you guys!

Kalli hasn't ever held such a tiny baby

Jess looked and felt great!

Looks like Miah and Treyvan needed a little R&R

22 lbs -8 mos vs. 7 lbs 9 oz - 1 day - I doubt Capri will ever be this big at 8 mos!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!

Nate is officially in his 30's now, but still lookin' good!

Kalli made her dad 3 pictures and helped pick out some new swim shorts and ties for him. She was so excited to watch him open them up. Treyvan was just as happy chewing on the paper :) Happy Birthday!

Nate is a fabulous husband and dad, I am so lucky to have him. Thanks for all you do!
Love you forever!!!

Surprise! Happy 30th Birthday!

Nate turns the big 3-0 this year and so I thought it would be fun to throw a surprise party for him a few days before the actual day. He ALWAYS figures out my surprises so I was determined to make this work. And it did. He ended up working late and I told him we were going to watch a movie at the Lowry's house, just meet me there. So here I was antsy and excited to open the door in just a few moments.

Nate was surprised to say the least - look at that face. He didn't quite know what to think at first.

Nate doesn't like a lot of attention centered on him...so it was perfect!

Here's the crew that made it all happen

I made most of the desserts that Nate loves. Brownies, BTS cake and oatmeal choc chip cookies. We also had Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Julie made gooey butter cake. For the birthday cake, Jess and I got him a Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory - his ultimate fave! It was to die for!

Nate had a little help blowing out ALL those candles

Jess made Nate a jerky bouquet. It was made of jerky on skewers, Firecrackers and Slim Jims- all of Nate's favorite treats!. She knows him well...

We were glad Kim was able to make it - 2 weeks after having baby Davis!

A little target practice

Since it was Daddy's party, Kalli stayed up until 10:30. She got a little bored and decided to color a picture for us. She was pooped and conked out upstairs in the guest bed shortly after.

One last pic of the group before we headed home at 11 pm.
It was a lot of fun and I am so glad it all worked out as planned. Happy Birthday Nate! I love you!

'Light' of My Life

Treyvan was 'chewing' on this flashlight. Kalli thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop laughing. Ahhh, the little joys in life :)

Easter Morning

Kalli and Treyvan woke up bright and early, 7 am, to see what the Easter bunny brought

Treyvan got a new chew toy to get those teeth to come out

Kalli got a Cinderella coloring book, silly putty and flip flops.

Kalli went outside to find the eggs that the Easter bunny hid

Kalli all dressed up for church on a perfect Sunday day!

More Pre-Easter Fun

Saturday morning our ward had an Easter egg hunt and a mini breakfast.

Kalli found a few friends to hunt with

Kalli loves egg hunts

Then the guys competed in an egg toss - Nate and Sherman Davis partnered up and got pretty far. Who knew Nate could be so gentle...

Last, the women were in an egg race. We balanced our eggs on spoons as we ran. I came in 3rd place - not too bad :)

Treyvan enjoyed it too

Saturday night, Kalli and Nate dyed the eggs for the Easter bunny to hide.

She helped Treyvan out and dyed 2 just for him. What a great big sis!

Easter 'Egg'stravaganza

To start off the Easter weekend, on Friday we went to an amazing Easter Egg Hunt. It not only had a candy hunt, but FREE activities and food such as bounce houses and slides, churros, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, crafts, face painting and more. It was a blast!

All ready to go

Let the egg hunt begin

A little entertainment while we wait in line for the bounce house

Kalli got a unicorn AND a butterfly on her cheeks

Treyvan had a good time too

Spring Breakin' With Aunt Pat

We were lucky enough to have Aunt Pat come visit us for a few days during Spring Break. We had a lot of fun showing her around.

We had to take her on the auto ferry on Balboa Island
then to one of our favorite beaches in Laguna Beach - just off of Diamond

Kalli wanted to show off her biking skills
Kalli wanted to how off some of her biking skills
and so did Nate...stay back ladies, he is all mine :)
Aunt Pat and Kalli slept in the same room and kept each other company in the early hours of the morning!
Kalli has so much fun with A.P.

Aunt Pat was so much help with the kids. She took care of everything and let me get some things done WITHOUT the kids. It was soooo nice! We may have to rethink moving closer to her in Oakland :)
Thanks for everything A.P. We can't wait to see you again!
