An Untraditional Thanksgiving Day

This year we stayed home for Thanksgiving - so we got together with the Forests, who also have no family close by, and did our own version of Thanksgiving. First, we fished at the San Clemente Pier.
Kalli was so excited to go fishing - we even dug up our own worms
Too bad we didn't catch any fish, that was going to be our feast :) So instead, neither Jess or I really wanted to cook, we got take out from Mimi's Cafe.

Turkey Pesto Sandwich

Butternut Squash Ravioli
We snarfed it down and then made sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles. It was perfect, except a little mashed potatoes and gravy would have topped it off nicely. Oh, well maybe next year ;)

Rock-a-Bye Baby...

This was just so cute I had to post it. Jess knows how to work her magic with Treyvan. She can always get him to stop crying.

I love how his little (I mean BIG) legs are wrapped around her. I can't believe she will have a little one of her own in just 5 months!

Surprise!

Wendy turns 28 next week and Kim and I decided to surprise her with an early morning (6:30 a.m.) kidnap. With Jake's help (who got it all on video), it was a success and she was definitely surprised. Here are a few highlights:

Tess protecting her mommy

Then off to Mimi's for breakfast

They even gave her a birthday cake - it still tasted good, even if it was 7:45 in the morning.

Happy Birthday Wendy!

THE Blanket

I got a crafty spark and decided I wanted to make a blanket for Treyvan. SO with a little help from a good friend (ok a LOT of help), this is what I made in one afternoon. Pretty amazing, huh - for those of you that know how amazing this really is for me

I think Treyvan likes it too

Kalli LOVES to put make up on all by herself. What do you think? A natural?

Doc Check Up

Kalli went in for her 4 yr well check and well... she checks out healthy as a horse. Kalli was pretty worried about what the doc was going to do at her appointment. I explained to her the basics, but left out that she might have to get some shots. So here she is, happy to be there.

Here's the doc doing his thing

Luckily, she didn't need any immunizations this time, but she did have to get a flu shot. All I will say is there were definitely some tears before and after the shot, but don't worry - she survived and is doing great!

Back to the Great D-Land

Kalli, Treyvan and I headed to Disneyland after a 2 month hiatus and spent most of our time at Princess land. Kalli and Tess got to listen to Cinderella tell her story then they danced with Belle, Snow White and Jasmine.

Wendy and I got to sit and watch - it was great.

I love this pic!

Trip to Irvine Park

Since it was another lazy hot Saturday, Jess suggested we head over to Irvine Park to check it out. I didn't know this place even existed and we are always up for something new.

There was a little train that takes you thru the whole park

Kalli and Boston thought it was great, but the treat bags were even better.

Kalli decided to pull up a 'Miah' and take a break.
We checked out the little zoo, which was more impressive than I expected. We even saw a bear, beaver and a bird eating its lunch (a mouse - we heard the crunch of the bones as it ate it - ewww!)

Kalli even got to pet the goats. What's a zoo without goats?
It was a lot of fun. Who knew a park had so much to offer!
