We soaked in the natural hot springs in Riverdale

The Ice Skating Pro

While in Utah, we thought ice skating might be fun, especially since Kalli hasn't tried it. She used a walker on the ice to help her balance and stay up. It was rough at first, but soon she got the hang of it.

She had some hard falls but insisted on getting up on her own and continuing on. She loved it!

Except for this moment...

Our White Christmas

Christmas Eve in Utah always includes a surprise visit from Santa. Kalli and Treyvan got to sit on his lap and tell him what they (Kalli) want for Christmas, then they each get to open a present.

Treyvan was pretty excited, as you can see

Kalli really was excited

Kalli could hardly wait to rip it open

Her first present - a princess coloring/activity book

The next morning at 7 am Kalli and her cousins woke up to see what Santa had left them

Kalli, checking out her loot

Treyvan and Nate watching the madness

Kalli finally got Cinderella (her favorite princess)
Treyvan was stoked to get Clifford the Movie

Whoa, what a mess!
Treyvan got to spend some time with Grams and Gramps
Later that night, we got together with all the cousins and they performed for us
Treyvan with Grandma Brown

Kalli and her cousin Jordan have so much fun when they get together. I can't wait for the next time!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

We headed to Utah this year for Christmas. On our way we hit one of many snow storms. Kalli hasn't really experienced snow before, so I was glad there was fresh powder for her to play in.

Kalli and Nate got out of the car for a quick break and for a little snowball fight. Kalli had on sandals and I realized we needed to invest in some snow boots quickly.

Nate had a great time shoveling the snow. As soon as it began snowing, Nate was out there with the shovel keeping the sidewalk and driveway clear. He even made a fun hill for sledding. Kalli had soooo much fun. She didn't seem to notice that it was FREEZING outside :)

We will have to make a sledding trip to Big Bear soon!

Happy Birthday Emi!

It's Emi's birthday on Dec. 25, so to celebrate, we were invited to go to Legoland with her family today. We all had a lot of fun. Thanks Emi (Debbie and Albert)!

Debbie had "Team Emi" shirts made with each of their name printed on back. So cute!

I don't know who was having more fun...

Of course, Lego Santa and his sleigh were there

Kalli is so scared of sharks (if Nate pretends he is a shark in the pool, she hops out immediately), but it looks like she might have overcome that fear :)
Happy Big 5 Emi!

Kalli's First Bowl

Tyler, Kalli's friend, had his birthday party at Saddleback Lanes today. Kalli has never been bowling and thought this was the best thing ever! The only problem was waiting for everyone else to go before getting another turn :) Of course, on Kalli's first (very slow) roll, she got a strike. That's my girl!

Just Playin' Around

Kalli sometimes thinks Treyvan is her little dress up doll; he doesn't mind too much :)

Where's Nate-O?

One of Kalli's favorite things to do is pull out all the pillows and blankets, then fall or jump into them. Nate and Tess got in on the action too this time.

Rain, Rain Come and Stay

We had our first big rain of the season today. Kalli was excited to go and play in it. Nate made her a poncho from a garbage bag and out they went to jump in puddles. To my surprise, they were back inside before I had a chance to get my camera. Kalli said the water was too cold on her feet. She decided to enjoy the rest of the rain, dry, by the window.

Family Pics 2008

This year we went to Soka University to get our family pictures. The grounds there are beautiful and amazingly manicured; this made it easy to find some good spots for pictures. Luckily Treyvan and Kalli were in good moods, which made the "shoot" run pretty smoothly. Here are a couple of the finalists:

We ended up using this one:

I am pretty pleased with how they turned out; we'll see what happens next year with a crazy 1 yr old running around...

Breakfast With Santa and L.N. Parade

This morning our ward had 'breakfast with Santa'. Kalli waited patiently in line with some of her Sunbeam friends, Kaili and Haven, to sit on Santa's lap.

She finally made it up there and what did she ask for...a Belle puzzle and the Giselle movie (Enchanted). Easy enough, right Santa ;)

Then we headed to the local parade and waited in the cold for it to start. Kalli and Tess tried to stay warm.
As usual there were lots of "interesting" things in the parade i.e. a garbage truck, post office workers and the guest star Jerry Mathers (Leave it to Beaver - 'the Beav') to name a few.

Kalli had a lot of fun and even gave one of the Star Wars guys '5'. The parade is always a good way to get into the festive spirit.
