Look Who Turned 1!

This past year has flown by, but lets be honest, it has been tough. Treyvan has NOT been the easiest baby, in fact I would say he has been downright hard. The first 6 months he didn't nap very well in the day - we are talking only 30-45 min naps 3 times a day. At least he slept pretty good at night (bedtime around 6:15 pm). So what did he do while he was awake? Cry- especially if he wasn't being held. I got some pretty ripped arms carrying that 20 lb baby around all the time :) These last 6 months have been filled with teething and ear infections (which have brought on a lot of crying and irritability). Treyvan didn't crawl until he was 11 mos old, so of course the 'crying if he wasn't held' continued to that point. Once he started moving, things did get better. He is happier and so are we, but teething seems to never end...
Now that I have documented what the first year has been like, since my memory tends to fade fast as time goes on, I can talk about the milestones he has reached and the fun things Treyvan is doing.
-His first word besides Mama was uh-oh (Nate taught him). Other words he says: ball, da da, dog, bye and 'dink'(drink)
-Balls were his first true love. He likes to chase them around the house.
-He loves trucks and makes a sputtering noise when he is playing with them.
-His favorite toy is the small blue boombox that sings songs.
-Trey likes to get out of the house. He gets bored quickly.
-He likes to be where the action is and does not have 'stranger anxiety'.
-He is very stubborn in many ways. Trying to get him to sleep throught the night has been hard. He will cry for 30 min -2 hours sometimes.
-When Treyvan stopped nursing at one year, he started sleeping through the night shortly after. He goes to sleep around 7:15pm and wakes up around 6:30-7 am.
-Trey is a big eater and will eat about anything...for now.
-Treyvan loves to be around his big sis and 'Sissy' is good to him.

We love this little guy and look forward to another adventure filled year!

9 Months - What?!

Height: 29 3/4 - over 100%

Weight: 22lbs 12 oz - 90%

Head: 47 cm - 80%

I can't believe he is already 9 mos old. This little rascal is so sweet and so stubborn at the same time. He loves to be held still, but he is figuring out the world around him in so many ways. He can pull himself up and loves to stand, but he still won't crawl. I guess he wants to be like his big sis and skip the crawling stage. His naps are still random, with one being between 30-60 min and the other pretty close to the same. I will rarely get an hour and a half out of this guy. (He does go to sleep around 6:30-7 pm though and sleeps until about 4-5am, then up for the day at 7am - not bad). Lots of babble, but no 'mama' or 'dada' yet. He loves food - rice or oatmeal cereal mixed with baby food - but loves to eat anything you have on your plate as well. I look forward to the months ahead. I love you big little man!

6 Months and Counting

6 Month Stats

Height: 28 1/2 inches - Over 100%

Weight: 20 lbs 10 oz - 95%

Head: 45 cm - 75%

And this is what he is doing:

-can roll over from front to back (but absolutely hates tummy time)

-can sit by himself for a long time - just needs a few pillows around him

-eats about any kind of baby food and any other food I will give him

-loves to chew on fingers, mine included

-loves holding and playing with his feet

-goes to bed btwn 7-7:30 pm, wakes up btwn 5-6 am, then goes back to sleep until 7-7:30 am

-naps for 30-45 min intervals 3 times a day, if I am lucky, one of those naps is 1-1.5 hrs

-will smile at anyone, if given a little attention

-has been told by many people, friends and strangers, he has a perfect round head

-is in size 3 diapers and has been for a couple months - getting ready for size 4 soon (Kalli only got up to size 4, then she was potty trained)

-has been wearing 6-12 mos clothes for 2 mos now and it looks like he will be moving up soon

-still barfs up after every feeding, not necessarily right after he is done either

-looks for Kalli and can be entertained by her for long periods of time

-reaches for things, including my nose and mouth

-still a mama's boy!

My Very Big, Little Boy

Treyvan had his 4 month check up and this is what we found out - besides that he has 2 ear infections :(

Height: 27 in - Off the Chart
Weight: 18 lb 14 oz - Off the Chart
Head: 43 cm - In the middle somewhere (I didn't get the %)

The nurse said he looks like a 6 month old. He is already in his 6-9 month clothes, just a few of the 3-6 months fit still. So crazy. Kalli was always in the 90th percentile, but she was right on with clothes sizes. I guess we will see what 6 months brings...

Yep, you read that right. Our little guy is not so little. We just love pinching those thighs :)
