Bike-scapades

The crew

A little power snack before the big trek back
3 of a kind
It is about time we got off our butts and went on a bike ride. The Lowry's invited us to head down to Salt Creek for a picnic, on our bikes. We haven't used our bikes in at least 6 mos, so we jumped at the chance. Now, I must say, we don't have the typical run of the mill bikes. If you look closely, you will see the basket on the front of my bike and if you could really see Nate's it says "Huffy" on it (which says it all). We bought our beach cruisers on craigslist for a total of $40 when we first moved here 2 yrs ago, that should tell you of the quality and shape that they are in. My bike at least has 3 gears, but Nate's has one and one only AND he pulled Kalli in the buggy. We knew this was going to be very interesting from the very beginning. The ride to the beach was a piece of cake (downhill mostly), but the way back was a little more intense. Nate and I had to get off our bikes and push them up a few of the hills, not a big deal, what really slowed us down was on the last stretch back to the Lowry's house, Nate's handle bars fell off. The bolts loosened and it wouldn't hold the bars up anymore. He pulled off at Taco Bell, while I biked back to pick up our Jeep and rescue him. It was great! We had a blast. I guess we will have to upgrade before our next bike outing. We'll have to see what craigslist has to offer...

You guys are rock stars! I wish we had bikes. I need to tap into nates talent for craigs list shopping and find us a good deal. :) I probably would have died on that trip. I need to do spinning! :)

All I have to say is that you and Nate are in some serious shape. You would never be able to tell you were struggling.
