Our Great Wilderness Adventure

This afternoon, Nate wanted to do something different and fun. He did some "research" and then we took off to a land unknown. We have heard about Silverado Canyon and always wanted to check it out. Nate has also been dying to go 4-wheeling and camping so we figured we would see what this place has to offer. First, we went to the not-so-well-known Tucker Wilderness Sanctuary. There was a lot of wilderness for sure and maybe a couple hummingbirds, but that about covered it. We also went to the museum, which consisted of a few stuffed animals and snakes (I don't know if "museum" is the word I would use to describe it). Kalli had fun cruising around and talking/asking questions a million miles a minute.

Spotted a few goats

"Museum"

They aren't real, don't worry

Hmmm...who's taller?

Afterwards, we ventured to a biker bar not too far away for an early dinner. Many might question this decision, taking our 3 yr old into a bar with a bunch of bikers, but Nate found this place online and it said it was kid friendly plus live music every night. Sounded like fun to us. Well, believe it or not, once we got there, we could see it was definitely NOT kid friendly (even though on the sign it states "children welcome") . Inside was a huge bar with hardly any booths and outside everyone was smoking by the tables. We ended up staying, even though our little goody two shoes family stuck out like a sore thumb. We found a table away from the smoke and enjoyed our BLT and pastrami sandwiches, which were fabulous!

Notice the "Children Welcome" on the sign

All in all, we had a lot of fun and if you ever need a tour guide to Silverado canyon - give us a call!

Classic! I have passed that place several times but have never gone inside. Glad you guys braved it and survived the smoke. Love the details on the "museum" ! Lol! Sounds like an adventure.

I love it! I've never heard of any of those places. It's always fun just to be out doing something new. Love the biker bar with the kid friendly sign. So that's where you filled up before the movie! :)

We drove down that Canyon when Boston was 7 months and we were planning on going to that bar for lunch. I heard that the burgers were great. Boston fell asleep and we never made it. My neighbor rides his harley (with wife on back) to that place on weekends. I guess we'll have to head back and try it out.
