Whem they did finally arrive, Mom brought some fun gifts for the kids, including chinese jump rope. We all gave it a shot.

Friday we took Grams and Gramps to Disneyland. They haven't been to there since we all went as a family 20 yrs ago! I was excited to show them some of the new rides and let the kids go experience it all with them. We had to hit up Nemo first. Treyvan was not sure about it, but everyone else loved it!

Kalli was brave and went on the Matterhorn - anything with Grams and Gramps is fun!
We watched the 'Celebrate' parade for the first time and Kalli got to participate a few times
Saturday we headed up to LA, it has been 20 yrs since they have been there too. We went straight to the Fabric District. I found some good stuff, but my mom made out like a bandit. Those bags are full of minky soft fabric, all for $27!
For lunch, we wanted more of the LA experience (including the expensive parking, ughhh!). So, we tried out a long-time favorite -according to the people of LA- Clifton's Cafeteria
The food was as good as the looks on our faces. Blahhh. I wouldn't recommend it. You literally walk around with your tray like a school cafeteria and pay per item. The food was greasy, flavorless and way overpriced. This place has been around since 1931. I just don't get it - there were quite a few people there too.
Next on the list was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Marilyn and I 'bonded.'

Gumby suckered my parents into getting a picture and giving him some cash. (My parents are too kind) Of all the 'characters' there - Gumby - he has got to be the lamest. Who dresses up as Gumby?!

We had a mini birthday party for Kalli Sunday afternoon. I made her a brownie cake and we took it to Salt Creek. Kalli was excited to have an early birthday party.
We walked around the tide pools and found some pretty cool shells and crabs

We promised Kalli she could carve this pumpkin with Grams and Gramps, so we got right to it when we got back.
We love having Grandma and Grandpa visit us. We wish they lived closer so we could see them all the time. Kalli and Treyvan thoroughly enjoyed having their Grams and Gramps here and can't wait to see them again.

It was sooooo hot! Poor Trey's face got bright red and sweaty. We had to pour some water on his head to cool him down.
