Trey stayed behind with Johnny and Carol and Aunt Pat came to help out as well. We knew he would have a great time.
Kalli got to go with us and she was SO excited. She couldn't stop talking, literally :)
We went to Liberty Jail
Adam Ondi Ahman - Beautiful and peaceful
We stayed in a little Amish town along the way
We got there on a Sunday so everything was closed. It would have been fun to see more of the people and shops, maybe next time...
These lily pads were growing on the Mississippi River.
We went to Nauvoo and toured a lot of the old shops. This was the blacksmith. Kalli got to try it out
An old church/meeting house
Later on we went for a little country drive and look where we ended up
The Nauvoo temple is beautiful! We got to stay in a historic hotel about 2 blocks away from it
Joseph Smith and Emma's house
A few important gravesites
One of Kalli's favorite parts of the trip were all the little treats along the way, no surprise there :)
Carthage Jail - bullet hole still there and you can see where the door is busted from the mob
The window Joseph Smith fell out of
Outside of the window - this jail was my favorite spot we visited on the trip.
Temple of the Reorganized Church in Independence, MO - we took a tour, very interesting to say the least...but we did get to see some of Emma Smith's things in their museum

The last place we stayed was crazy! It had so much nonsense, random stuff in it you couldn't believe it. It was cluttered inside and out. A picture doesn't do it justice :)

Kalli had so much fun, especially spending time with Grandpa Larry
We all had so much fun! Thank you Larry and Carol for making it happen for us :)

Awww chucks ... all your pics bring back so many memories. Been there, done that to all of them and absolutely loved it. I have even been the "upside down ice cream cone" temple - which was definitely an experience ... I lost my camera case there which I really liked :(
Did you guys go to one of the nightly firesides in Nauvoo? They were put on my the missionaries by the riverside. They were lots of fun because while they were doing the fireside ... we could sit and admire all of the fireflies out in the field.
